Saitama aims to surpass Kagawa as No. 1 prefecture for udon
If there is a single prefecture in Japan that has earned the title of udon capital in Japan, surely it is Kagawa -- famed for the Sanuki udon noodles that originate there.
Not so fast, however. Saitama resident Akihisa Nagatani, 35, is confident that the distinction will able to be usurped by his home prefecture -- currently second nationwide in terms of consuming the type of flour used for making udon noodles -- even though Kagawa Prefecture enjoys a strong lead in this regard.
