映画『ドラえもん 新・のび太と日本誕生』の興行収入が4億円を突破しました。
ANIME NEWS: Newest 36th Doraemon film sets box-office record
The latest Doraemon blockbuster has raked in more than 4 billion yen ($36.4 million) as of May 4, a record for the new generation of Doraemon films that started 10 years ago.
“Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the Birth of Japan 2016” is the 36th animated feature film of the long-running franchise that features Doraemon--the robotic time-traveling cat.
The movie has earned 4.037 billion yen and drew about 3.56 million viewers in 62 days after it premiered on March 5.
The latest box-office figures show an increase of 4.4 percent from the previous installment, “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Space Heroes.” That means the latest movie is the highest-grossing film in the new Doraemon film series that started after the current voice actors took over the roles of the main characters in 2005.

今回気になった単語はblockbusterです。
LDOCEでは“a book or film that is very good or successful”と定義されており、『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版、大修館書店）では「（略式）（映画・本などの）大ヒット作」とありました。
なぜ〝略式″となっているのか気になり、英辞郎on the webを見てみると「《軍事》ブロックバスター（爆弾）。第二次大戦中にイギリス軍が使用したもので、一街区（block）を丸ごと破壊（bust）できる威力を持った大型爆弾」という意味が見つかり、「破壊する」のニュアンスから「大ヒット作」へつながっているのだと思われます。
しばらくドラえもんの映画を観ていないので、観てみたくなりました。(flyingbird)
