働き過ぎによる過労死で、まだ若いのに亡くなってしまうということがあります。サラリーマンだけではなく、若い女性の方々も同じ状況に苦しんでいるようです。

今回取り上げる表現はlax です。まず意味を『ライトハウス英和辞典』（研究社）第５版で調べてみますと、「（規律・風紀などが）緩んだ、だらしのない」という意味があることがわかりました。直訳で訳してみると「労働法の緩い施行」となりますが、このままでは直訳すぎます。無理やり名詞にせず「〜こと」という形にすると「労働法の規制緩和」という意味合いになるかと思います。そして人々が働いている状況をdraw people into the workforce と表現しているのが印象的です。「引きずり込む」という表現が、働くことの強制力を表していると感じられます。
