Wait till ~

SUSHI AND BEYONDのChapter 9は場内が豊洲に移転することで昨年から話題になっている築地市場を採り上げています。
今回採り上げるのはWait till ~です。英英辞書にはwait until/tillでused when you are excited about telling or showing someone something（LDOCE）とありました。このことから，築地のウニを筆者に勧めるyou try theseという発言に込められた話者（Osamu）の高揚を窺い知ることができます。ここでは「（築地の）ウニを食べてみてごらんよ！」と解釈できます。（Koyamamoto）

A little further on I turned my nose up at some small, wooden trays of perfectly arrayed uni, or sea urchin roe (actually these frilly little yellowy-pink morsels aren’t roe but gonads – sea urchins are hermaphrodites). ‘Tastes like toilet cleaner,’ I said to Osamu, wrinkling my nose as I recalled the only other time I had tried sea urchins, in Paris. ‘Wait till you try these,’ he smiled pointing to some uni, spicy black balls.
