O new world! が気になりました。調べたところによりますと，この表現は，シェイクスピア作品の『テンペスト』の第五幕第一場のO brave new world「素晴らしい新世界」のもじりであります。この場合のbraveはbravoと同じ「素晴らしい」という意味です。この文脈では，braveがdullに変わっていますから，「つまらない新世界」となると考えます。おそらく，現実世界に対して，この表現を用いていると思われます。きっと当時は，誰もが「スターウォーズ」シリーズで出てくる道具などが実現する日を待ち望んでいたのかもしれません。（Kawada）
