CNNにあった体操男子日本代表の内村航平選手に関する記事から英語表現を採り上げます。動詞executeというと「〜の死刑を執行する、〜を処刑する」という意味が想起されますが、その他に「〈困難な［技術を要する］こと〉を成し遂げる」という意味があります（『ウィズダム英和辞典』第3版，三省堂）。よってここでの解釈も「目を疑うような重力を無視した演技を成功させる」あたりでしょうか。
