ロシアのメドベージェフ首相が22日に北方領土の択捉島に訪問しました。また首相としては初めての訪問となったようです。

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev visited Etorofu Island in the northern territories on Saturday, marking the first visit to the island by a Russian prime minister.

今回、取り上げるのは“inclement”です。“inclement”は「（（正式））〈天候などが〉荒れ模様の;寒くてじめじめした、底冷えする」とありました。「『ジーニアス英和辞典第4版』大修館書店」また、LDOCEには“inclement weather is unpleasantly cold, wet etc”と記されています。
メドベージェフ首相が北方領土を訪問することはロシア政府がこの地域の開発を重要視していることを示唆していると考えます。（faith）
