The Japan Timesからです。気象衛星のひまわり8号の運用が開始されました。観測の性能が大幅に向上したようで、今後は台風の予報精度の向上や局地的な豪雨の観測の教化などに繋がることが期待されているようです。

以前、UG先生にゼミで教えていただいた表現、 “state-of-the-art”を取り上げます。G4（大修館）によりますと「最新技術の、最も進んだ」とありました。しかし “the most advanced”や “the latest”の方がより一般的な表現であると書かれています。LDOCEでは “using the most modern and recently developed methods, materials, or knowledge”とありました。（Inaho）
