今回取り上げるのは、“E.coli”という表現です。LDOCEで調べていると、“a type of bacteria that can make you very ill if it is in any food that you eat”という定義が見つかりました。さらに『ジーニアス英和辞典G4 大修館書店』には、「〔細菌〕大腸菌」とありました。ちなみに、この表現は“Escherichia coli”の省略形で、ラテン語で“Escherichia「大腸菌群（属、類）」”＋“coli「大腸菌」”という意味だそうです。
今回の豚の生肉の提供禁止は、食中毒を未然に防ぐのに大いに役立つと思いますが、もう食べられなくなってしまうとなると本当に残念です。(ninetails)
