さて、受賞有力候補であるマシューモリソンがノミネートされていないことが同枠でノミネートされている渡辺謙の日本人初ミュージカル主演男優賞受賞を裏付けることになったのでしょうか。

いくつか気になった表現がありましたが、ここでは “his bulldozing tactics”の “bulldoze”を取り上げます。最初は「ブルドーザーで建物を破壊する」ような様子を思い浮かべましたが、文脈には合いません。G4（大修館）で確認してみますと、「〈人を〉脅迫する、[SVO into doing]で〈人〉を脅して…させる、〈法案など〉を[…に]強引に通す」という意味がありました。LODCEでは “to force someone to do something that that they do not really want to do”と書かれています。（Inaho）
