2014年5月以来、1年振りに代表復帰した澤穂希選手が、先日行われた国際親善試合で見事にゴールを決めました。

取り上げるのは“hamper”です。「《正式》…の邪魔をする、阻止する、身動きを取れなくする」また、名詞として「1.(雨天時に)邪魔になる船具《索具・操帆装置など》」といった意味もあるようです。(いずれも『G3』より引用) 今回は動詞として用いられています。同じく「邪魔をする」という意味の“interfere”“meddle”よりも固い表現のようです。

明日に控えているイタリアとの親善試合を最後に、来月からはいよいよ女子ワールドカップが始まります。澤選手にとっては実に六回目のＷ杯になります。なでしこジャパンの連覇、そして澤選手の躍動に期待です。(potter)
