Sekiwake Terunofuji defeated Aoiyama and captured his first career title at the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament on Sunday, thanks in part to a late meltdown by grand champion and fellow Mongolian Hakuho.

気になったのは、chokeという語です。音楽用語にも用いられておりますが、今回は相撲に用いられております。『ウィズダム英和辞典』第２版 三省堂）には「《米・くだけた表現》（スポーツなどで）（緊張して）しくじる、ヘマをする」（--"informal to fail at doing something, especially in sports, because there is a lot of pressure on you" LDOCE5）とあります。この場合は、「日馬富士に敗れ、優勝を逃す」という意味であると考えます。（Kawada）
