troubleshooter 復習

Japan Newsを見ていると、お悩み相談のような記事が多数ありました。その中の1つに、90代の祖父が、運転をやめないことに困っているという娘さんからの記事があがっていました。

"troubleshooter"とは「（紛争の）調停人」という意味です。『ジーニアス英和辞典』(大修館書店) 「(紛争など)を調停する、調停人を務める」を表す"troubleshoot"に人を表す-erが付きました。"shoot"には、「撃つ」という意味がありますが、トラブルを撃ち落して解決するといった感じでしょうか。
