少し前の記事ですが、取り上げたい表現がありますのでアップします。

rattle the uprightは、uprightをガタガタいわせるとなりますが、それでもまだちんぷんかんぷん。the uprightはサッカーでは、「ゴールポスト」の比喩的な表現です。「ゴールポスト」をガタガタといわせる、つまり「ゴールポストを揺らす」、「得点する」という意味になるのです。本日のA30の勉強会の前に先生に指摘され、気がついた次第です。(Kawada)
