みかんが売れる季節は終わりを迎えていますが、みかんというのは皮を剥くのが少々面倒です。この記事を見ればそんなみかんの皮剥きから解放されるかもしれません。
気になった表現は見出しに使われている”Life hack”です。手持ちの辞書には載っていなかったのでネットで調べてみると、「効率良く仕事をこなし、高い生産性を上げ、人生のクオリティを高めるための工夫」とありました。この言葉は2004年にアメリカのテクニカルライターである、ダニー・オブライエンという人物が考案したそうです。「もともとはコンピュータやシステムを活用して仕事を効率よく行うためのテクニックやノウハウという、「仕事術」的側面の強い単語だった」そうですが、今では仕事に留まらない広い領域を扱う単語として使われるようです。
“hack”を「ジーニアス英和辞典第４版（大修館書店）」で調べてみると、「（ネットワークに不法侵入して）<情報など>を勝手に引き出す」という意味の他に、「《略式》…をうまくやり抜く」とも書いてあり、この意味も含まれていると思われます。
“Life hack”は日本語の「裏ワザ」にあたる言葉ではないかと考えました。YouTubeにはたくさんのLife Hacksが投稿されているので時間があれば見てみるのもいいかもしれません。(bookmark)
