Clark先生のおかげでゼミ生にとってはおなじみの表現となったことでしょう。

合宿中に東後勝明先生と西山千先生の対談の冒頭部分のdictglossをおこないました。一番最初に東後先生がおっしゃったのが、”Well, it’s a great honor and privilege for us to have you on our program, Mr. Nishiyama, today.” でした。

この表現をネットで検索してみると、同じような使われ方をしているものがいくつかあったので例として挙げておきたいと思います。

“It’s a(my) great honor and privilege (for me/us) to~”の形で覚えていこうと思います。偉大な通訳者の通訳をディクテーションしたり、ネイティブの先生（米国の州立大学full-time professor！）をお招きできたりと、恵まれた環境で学習させていただいていることを再認識しました。UG先生、改めてありがとうございました。(bookmark)
