be all over

(Koyamamoto)

Derek Jeter’s Final Farewell Begins, Hosted by His Greatest Rivals
BOSTON — Derek Jeter’s driver dropped him off at the wrong entrance at Fenway Park.
Not on Friday, but in 1999 before the All-Star Game. It meant Jeter had to come in through a different entrance, past a crowd of Red Sox fans, to get to the home clubhouse.
Back then, when the rivalry between the Yankees with the Red Sox was just being reinvigorated, Jeter was not held in high regard in these parts. Based on his description, he was lucky to emerge unscathed.
“I got out of the car, and I thought they were going to kill me because they were all over me,” Jeter said. “So, it’s funny how things have changed.”
But times have changed, and Jeter, who has been cheered in every park he has visited in his final season, is scheduled to end his career in the citadel of his greatest rival. And that’s O.K.
