18 Santas arrive in Japan a little early to spread yuletide cheer
TOKYO —Santa Claus is coming to Japan a little early this year to spread some Christmas spirit to the land of the rising sun.
Eighteen Santas from seven countries including France and Denmark, arrived at Haneda Airport in Tokyo on Friday on their way to attend a “World Santa Claus Summit” in Kumamoto Prefecture this weekend, NTV reported Saturday.
The group of Santas stood in front of a specially erected Christmas tree at Haneda and joined hands with people walking by to partake in festive yuletide dances and carols.
The oldest Santa Claus came all the way from Greenland.
