アメリカ版「警察24時」"Cops"（というか日本側がまねをしたという方が正確）のスタッフが，番組収録中に撃ち合いに遭遇し，流れ弾に当たり負傷しました。
Cops' staffer shot during Omaha armed robbery
An employee of the long-running TV show Cops was shot and injured during a gun battle between police and an armed robber that broke out while the crew was working in Omaha Tuesday night.
The Cops crew was with police who responded to an armed robbery call around 9:20 p.m. CT when the shooting took place. The suspect and the Cops employee were taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
The suspect was declared dead at the hospital, while no more information was given about the condition of the Cops employee.
"We will have more on his condition, as well as any other details on this tomorrow," Deputy Police Chief Dave Baker said. "We have a lot of ground to cover here tonight and officers will continue the investigation throughout the night."
Cops has been filming in Omaha for much of the summer, the Omaha World-Herald reports.
In June Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer explained that he wanted Cops to film his department in action to put "the professionalism of our officers on display for the city and the world to see," according to the World-Herald.
Cops embeds camera crews with police units and uses no narration other than the dialogue of the officers and those they come into contact with. The show is described on its website as one of the first "true and unscripted reality shows."
The show first aired on March 11, 1989 and has earned four Emmy nominations.

これはその発展形なのでしょうか，「警察に密着取材をする」という意味合いでembedが用いられていることに気づきました。アメリカの都市のストリートの多くが「戦場」のようなものですから，これは納得です。（UG）
