恐竜の絶滅は不運により起きたのではないかという説が紹介されております。隕石が落下した時期は，ちょうど生命がすみにくい環境であったようで，火山活動の活発化や，海面の上昇が起きていたそうです。隕石落下がもう少し早ければ，あるいは遅ければ恐竜の絶滅は避けられたかもしれません。
記事の中で気になった単語は"blossom"です。「花が咲く」という意味以外にも，「成長する，発展する，活発になる」などという意味がありました（『Wisdom英和辞典第三版（三省堂）』）。恐竜が絶滅していなかったら，哺乳類が栄えることがなかったかもしれません。研究者によると恐竜がより高い知能を得ていたかもしれないと主張しております。（Ume）

This intriguing idea raises the question as to how dinosaurs might have evolved.
Could they have developed in the same way as mammals, becoming an advanced species similar to modern humans?
