UG先生ご指名いただきありがとうございます。"pack a punch"という表現があるのですね。早速，記事を読んでみると，女子ボクシングの試合について書かれておりました。見出は片方のボクサーがパンチを放ったことを表現しております。"pack a punch"を検索すると色々なサイトで取り上げられておりました（下記参考）。Weblioでは「〈人が〉一発強打できる」という意味がありました。
　意味はわかったのですが，なぜ他動詞"pack"を使うかという理由は書いておりませんでした。自分なりに考えてみるます。"pack"の語源は「束ねる」とあります（Wisdom英和辞典第三版（三省堂））。そして意味は「詰める，覆う，押しこむ」などがあります。（強力な）パンチを打ちこむときには，自分の力を拳に詰め込んでいると考えれば，"pack"という単語を使う理由になると思いました。（Ume）

The boxing British mother packing a big punch in Tokyo

On a night that an almost entirely male group of expat business executives fought for boxing honours, it was Elizabeth Taylor, a mother of three, who punched her way to overall victory.

Mrs Taylor, 41, a total novice before the event, was judged to be fighter of the night at the black-tie charity competition in Tokyo recently.

She already had her work cut out looking after sons Jaden, six, Kyle, four, and Reece, two. But when she decided to take to the boxing ring she said she committed to the challenge "110 per cent" and completed hours of gruelling training on top of her childcare commitments.

To her surprise, she was voted the fighter of the night – beating her Japanese opponent Maya Nijima in the ring and then being judged to have put on a better performance than the seven male victors that night.
