Japanese ballerina wins Benois award
A Japanese dancer has won an award at one of the world's most prestigious ballet competitions.
Mariko Kida won the Benois de la Danse competition in the ballerina category on Tuesday. The winners were announced at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow.
The annual prize is hosted by a group of Russian ballet industry figures. It recognizes dancers and choreographers who have showed exceptional talent during the previous year.
Kida is the first Japanese to win the award.
