アメリカのユタ州で日本人旅行者と警察とカーチェイスを繰り広げる事件が発生しました。
gunpointは「銃口」のことですが，at gunpointは「銃を突きつけ（られ）て」（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』小学館）というイディオム。ここでは「銃口を突きつけられてレンタカーから引きずり出された」と解釈できます。
幸いにもレンタカーのタイヤがパンクした以外には器物の破損や怪我人もなく，また旅行者家族も罪には問われなかったようです。（Koyamamoto）
