vein

下記に示した文の”vein”気になりました。Wisdom英和辞典（第三版）』（三省堂）で調べると「静脈」という意味以外に，「特徴，方法」などという意味がありました。語源はラテン語の"vena"から来ているそうですがなぜこのような意味なのかは分かりませんでした。体に張り巡らされている静脈が個人の特徴を作っていると考えればいいのでしょうか。（Ume）
