冬季オリンピック・ソチ大会のスピードスケート男子５００メートルの加藤条治選手、長島圭一郎選手ともに入賞は果たしたもののメダルへはあと一歩で届きませんでした。TVで応援していましたが、残念のひとことです。

Joji Kato finised fifth and Keiichiro Nagashima placed sixth in the men’s 500-meter speed skating race on Monday.

Kato clocked a combined 1 minute 9.74 seconds over the two races. Nagashima’s time was 1:10.04. Yuya Oikawa was 15th.

Netherlands swept the podium, with Michel Mulder winning gold in 1:09.31.

At the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, Nagashima and Kato finished 2-3 behind South Korea’s Mo Tae Burn.
