以前にも取り上げましたが、「リュウグウノツカイ」が今度は生きたまま捕獲されたそうです。その左右一対のひれ（腹鰭 ふくびれ）の先端が「（小舟などの）オール」（oar）のように膨らんでいることからきた命名だといわれています。
非科学的ですが（先般、秋田でもあがっており）、一連の珍事がただただ何かの前兆でないことを再び期すのみです。（Shou-VR*）
Another rare deep-sea fish caught in Toyama
Another rare deep-sea fish has been caught alive in Toyama Bay, central Japan.
The oarfish, or king of the herrings, is about 150 centimeters long. Its thin body has orange fins about one meter in length.
The fish was caught in a fixed net about 2 kilometers off Toyama City on Friday morning and taken to an aquarium in nearby Uozu City.
The aquarium says oarfish are believed to live at depths of more than 200 meters.
The fish is the seventh to be found in Toyama Bay and the first to be taken alive to the aquarium.
It has several wounds and is severely weak, but the aquarium says it will try to keep the fish alive.
On Monday, another rare deep-sea creature, a ribbonfish, was caught in the bay, but died about 2 hours later.
