tenaciousは以前(cf. tenacious effort - 田邉祐司ゼミ 常時英心：言葉の森から)として取り上げられておりますのでリンクを張らせて頂きます。文中では「＜考え方・影響などが＞頑強な、不屈の；断固とした；しつこい」（『ジーニアス英和辞典　第3版』大修館）という語義になりますがここでは意訳しましてtenacious negotiationで「粘り強い交渉」と解釈できるかと思います。Oxford Dictionaries Onlineで語源を調べてみますと’ early 17th century: from Latin tenax, tenac- (from tenere 'to hold')’とあることからもラテン語のtenere 「保つ」であることがわかりましたので併せて覚えておこうと思います。(Shou-VR*)
