日本にLINEというSNSアプリがあるようにアメリカや中国にも独自のSNSアプリがあります。以下は中国のWeixinというアプリに関するThe New York Timesにあった記事からの引用です。
partというと「一部, 部分」という名詞用法がすぐに浮かびますが，今回採り上げるのは副詞のpartです。副詞のpartには「ある程度, 半ば」という意味があり，A screwdriver is part vodka and part orange juice.（スクリュードライバーはウォッカとオレンジジュースを混ぜ合わせたものです）のように使います（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』小学館）。よって今回は「Weixinは既存のサービスの単なるコピーではなく，様々なサイトが混ざったもので，ある部分はFacebook，ある部分はInstagram，ある部分はwalkie-talkieの要素を持っている」と解釈できます。（Koyamamoto）
