集団強姦や強盗などの疑いで逮捕されていた杉本容疑者が逃走しましたが、捜査の末、横浜市内で発見され、逮捕となりました。
on the lamは以前取り上げられておりますので今回は復習となります。（cf. on the lam - 田邉祐司ゼミ 常時英心：言葉の森から）早速手持ちの辞書を引いて確認してみますとon the lamは「逃走中で」（『ジーニアス英和辞典 第３版』大修館）という定義になりますが、ここでは「逃走中の」と解釈できます。確認のためCambridge Dictionaries Onlineを参照してみますと‘escaping, especially from the police’と載っていました。(Shou-VR*)
