New Year's cards can be bought, created and sent with just a few taps on your smartphone
Japan Post says that sales of New Year's cards and the number of cards that they receive for delivery has declined for the ninth straight year. New Year's cards are still a cash cow for the postal service, however, bringing in approximately 150 billion yen -- or about 10 percent of yearly sales. Accordingly, expanding into new forms of the New Year's card business has been an urgent task for the company.
