この記事の中に出てくる"money laundering"を調べました。Weblioによれば，「資金洗浄，マネーロンダリング」などいう意味でした。マネーロンダリングとは不正に得たお金を，金融口座などで何度も取引を行うことにより元々の資金の出処をわからなくして，正当に稼いたもののように見せることをいうそうです。まさに（不正に得た）お金の洗浄を行っているのですね。
ちなみにこのビッドコインというものは電子マネーのことを指すようです。お金の歴史を自分なりに考えてみると，モノ同士の交換から，物品貨幣，金銀による取引，金本位制による紙幣の発行，そして現代は不換紙幣を発行しています。また現代はキャッシュカードでの取引も大きな規模を占めていると思います。ビッドコインは2008年に考案されたとありました。人類の歴史を通じて色々な交換方法が生まれてきているのだとあらためて感じました。（Ume）
