政府は、大学生の就職活動の開始時期を現在の１２月より４ヶ月遅らせ、４年生の４月からにするよう経済界に要請する方向で進めているようです。

Govt mulls asking firms to delay recruitment of students
The government is planning to request that business circles delay the start of their recruitment activities for university students by four months to April of their senior year, it has been learned.
Through the measure, the government hopes to showcase its policy of emphasizing education reform in two ways. First, the government believes delaying recruitment will enable students to devote more time to their classes, which in turn would lead to improved academic abilities. Second, it hopes to create an environment that facilitates students' efforts to study abroad.
To do so, the government is considering asking the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) to revise its ethics code, which acts as a gentlemen's agreement between firms. Under the revision, the start of recruitment activities would be pushed to the April of students' fourth year and screening processes to August.

今回取り上げるmullは、以前にも取り上げられていますがmull - 田邉祐司ゼミ 常時英心：言葉の森から
mull (over)は「〜を熟考する」という意味を持つようです。Oxford Wordpower Dictionaryで調べてみますと、”to think about something carefully and for a long time”と定義されていました。熟考すると言えばconsider以外に知らなかったので、しっかり覚えたいと思います。

この要請が通れば、２０１５年春の入社採用から、つまり私たち新３年生が主な対象となるためとても興味深いです。(Nat)
