先ほど調べものをしていたら、面白い本の記事を見つけたので取り上げたいと思います。

今回はローリングの新刊本のタイトル The Casual Vacancyに注目してみましょう。その意味は「議会や委員会で辞職や議員の死亡などにより、突然空席ができること」です。注目したのはvacancyです。もともとラテン語で「空になる」と言う意味の “vacare” が語源だそうです。日本人がよく休暇を「バカンス」といいますがここから来てるかきになりるところです。確認程度の内容でした。（Sugar）
