Now that warmer temperatures have arrived, it's the perfect opportunity to revisit that new year's resolution. You know, the one about getting healthy. Here are five fitness gadgets and apps vying for your attention in the crowded health-tech marketplace.
今回取り上げる単語は、revisitです。reという接頭辞がvisitという単語にくっついているという事から、「〈場所〉を（しばらくぶりに）再訪する」（『ウィズダム英和辞典 第二版』三省堂）という意味は知っていたと言いますか、思い浮かぶのですが、今回の記事中では「…を再び議論する, 再考する」（ibid）という意味で用いられております。LDOCEでも調べてみると、"formal to consider or discuss something again"と定義されていました。
似たような単語とのニュアンスの違いも気になったので、rethink, reconsiderも同じようにLDOCEで調べてみると、rethink "to think about a plan or idea again in order to decide if any changes should be made"、 reconsider "to think again about something in order to decide if you should change your opinion or do something different"と定義されていました。「変更するべき点があるかないかを決めるために再考する」というニュアンスがreconsiderとrethinkには入っているのではないでしょうか。
