The 55-seat commuter bus rear-ended a school mini-bus, causing the smaller vehicle to overturn and crash into a power supply station, authorities said. The larger bus, carrying nearly three dozen people, continued for another 60 yards before crashing into a tree.

通常のrear-endでは「後部、後尾」という意味でつかわれますが、過去形になることで，このrear-endedは〜の「後頭部にぶつかる」という意味になります（Urban Dictionary参照）。
