ブログでも何度も取り上げられているインドでの痛ましいニュースからです。
fast-trackといいますと、私は「出世コース」という意味を知っていました。しかし、LDOCEの定義では、"happening or making progress more quickly than is usual"です。「通常よりも早く成功をなしとげたりする」というニュアンスのため「出世コースの」という意味になるのでしょう。
ここの記事ではfast-track courtとなっています。訳は「早期決着の裁判」というのが良いのではないでしょうか。
また、記事の中にあるjuvenile courtは「少年裁判」です。日本は「家庭裁判」の中に「少年審判」があるため、それに当たるものではないでしょうか。(Minnesota)
India gang-rape: Five suspects charged in Delhi
Indian authorities have charged five men with the kidnap, gang rape and murder of a woman in Delhi last month.
The 23-year-old died of her injuries two weeks after the 16 December attack.
The five men will be tried in a fast-track court. where they could be handed the death penalty. A sixth suspect will be tried in a juvenile court.
The incident sparked outrage across India - the victim's father said he backed calls for the men to be executed if found guilty.
"The whole country is demanding that these monsters be hanged. I am with them," he told reporters at his home in Uttar Pradesh state.
