Carol for Coca-Cola, Get a Free Soda

A Coca-Cola vending machine is spreading Christmas cheer in Sweden one bottle at a time. Equipped with two microphones and a karaoke screen with lyrics, the “Sing for Me” machine at KTH — the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm — is accepting carols as payment for soda. The carols are produced by Karaokefabriken.　This isn’t the first time a Coca-Cola machine has accepted something other than money. Last spring, a machine in Singapore gave free sodas to customers who gave it a hug.

ここで私が注目したのはfabrikenです。fabrikenはドイツ語のfabrikの複数形で、ラテン語のfabrika（工作室、技術）という言葉からきているそうです。そして語源からもわかるように、fabrikは｢工場｣という意味です。英語ではfabricateにこれが流れています。
それにしても、歌を歌うと飲み物が出てくるというのは消費者にとっては嬉しいですよね。映像を見る限りでもみなさん盛り上がっていて楽しそうでした。ぜひ日本にも導入してほしいです！（Haramii）
