An attempted pitch invasion by a fan from the Iberian nation will be examined by the European governing body, with the case set to be addressed on Monday

Uefa have announced that they will open disciplinary proceedings against the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) on Monday.

The case has arisen after a Seleccao supporter attempted to invade the Stadio Narodowy pitch in Warsaw during his country’s Euro 2012 quarter-final victory over Czech Republic on Thursday.

hot waterは言うまでもなく「お湯」という意味がありますが、ここでは、略式で「困難」という意味(『ジーニアス英和辞典』第4版、大修館書店)です。そしてbe in[get into] hot waterは直訳すると「熱いお湯に入る」となりますが、比喩的に「困っている、大変な事になる」(ibid)という意味の慣用句の意味になります。(EnDough)
