back to the salt mines

ひとつ前に書いたlaundry listの締めに使おうと思いましたが、back to the salt minesは「さてと仕事にもどるか」という場合に、はまる表現です。
これはだいぶ古い言い回し（sliché）ですが、たまたまさっき観たなんとかという番組でも使われいました。キモはカッコ内に説明されている通り。「仕事場」をsalt minesというのは面白い! だからcoffee/tea breakが必要なのですね。！（UG）

Cliché time to return to work, school, or something else that might be unpleasant. (The phrase implies that the speaker is a slave who works in the salt mines.)

t's one o'clock and lunch break is over. Back to the salt mines.
School starts in the fall, so then it's back to the salt mines again.
