痛ましい事故が新潟で起きました。トンネル内で作業にあたっていた人々の安否が気にかかります。
ripは 「〜を引き裂く」、「もぎ取る」です。それに「抜ける」の意味を持つthroughを加えると、爆風がトンネル内を吹き抜けたイメージをもたらしてくれます。あまり見たくはないPVですが、爆風の他に、先般の竜巻、台風など（自然の）風が吹き抜けるときにも用いられます。（GP）
Tunnel explosion in Niigata
Up to 4 workers are feared trapped after an explosion ripped through a tunnel being built in Niigata Prefecture, central Japan.
Police say the blast occurred on Thursday morning in Minamiuonuma City. Three workers were taken to hospital after being found lying injured near the tunnel entrance. All 3 are reportedly conscious.
Police and firefighters are trying to confirm accounts that 4 workers are still inside the tunnel.
