NIMBY
GPくんが書いてくれるかなと期待しているのですが、忙しいのでしょう。
写真のキャプションにあるNot in our backyardの意味は文字通りそのとおりで「うちの庭には捨てさせない」というフレーズです。元々はNot in my backyardで、頭文字をとったNIMBYがよく知られています（80年代に盛んに使われました）。
抗議はそれほど激しいものではなかったそうですが、そんな人たちも石巻に行かれると心が変わってくると思います。（UG）
Kyushu protest briefly blocks debris
KITAKYUSHU — Residents of Kitakyushu temporarily blocked six trucks trying to deliver debris Tuesday from the March 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, apparently fearing the shipment was radioactive.
The six trucks arrived outside a waste collection point carrying debris from the coastal city of Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, at around 9 a.m., but some 30 people blocked their entry.
Police forced the protesters to leave and the waste was taken into the compound at around 5:30 p.m., eight hours behind schedule.
