ユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパン(USJ)は「ハリー・ポッター」をテーマにした新エリアをUSJ内に建設し、2014年後半を目処に開業すると発表しました。

記事に出てくるimmersionは2か国語併用地域における第二言語による教育法（例：カナダのイマージョンプログラム）として英語教育関係者にはおなじみですが、日本語には訳しにくい単語のひとつです。原義は「浸すこと」ですが、文脈に応じて使い分けないとどうしようもないと考えています。英語教育でも「集中教育法」、「浸入法」などの訳出の試みがありましたが、どれも今ひとつで、結局、「イマージョン」として定着しているようです。
さて、記事の方はどうでしょうか。「来園者が作品と映画の枠を越えて参加できるような...」、「来園者がハリーの世界を追体験できるような...」、はてさてやはりうまく行きません。（UG）

Harry Potter theme park planned in Osaka

Universal Studios Japan is planning to open the first Harry Potter theme park outside the United States, in Osaka, Japan, after an investment estimated at $500 million. The construction could begin in the next weeks and the park should be inaugurated in late 2014.

Japan is an attractive market for the owners of the Harry Potter rights. The eight Potter movie series cashed almost $900 million in Japan, more than in Great Britain.

Since the series is complete, revenues began to drop worldwide, and Warner Bros., the owner of licensing rights to the Harry Potter books, has found the theme parks solution.

“This type of immersion is what the fans crave more than buying traditional merchandise,” said Brad Globe, president at Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “Our strategy is focused on theme parks because it’s a different experience. They’ve read the books and seen the movies, but now they can enter the world.”
