BBC Scotlandのお昼の番組に、チャールズ皇太子が天気予報キャスターとして登場しました。 同局の開局60周年を記念したサプライズ出演でした。

Prince reads forecast on BBC news

Charles, 63, did the forecast for BBC's live lunchtime news after touring the studio with wife Camilla.

Their visit came as part of the couple's Holyrood Week.

After reading the BBC Scotland news, TV anchor Sally Magnusson handed over to the prince — who read a specially-scripted forecast that took in Royal residences.

He joked about drizzle over Balmoral before adding: "The best of the bright and dry weather will of course be in the northern isles and the far north of the mainland.

"So, a little hazy sunshine for the Castle of Mey in Caithness."

Looking directly into the camera in the Glasgow studio, he added: "But a cold day everywhere with temperatures of just 8°C and a brisk northerly wind. Thank God it isn't a Bank Holiday."

The prince proved a natural at doing the forecast. In fact he went down a storm...

Holyrood Weekは私のいとこ（滞英20年以上）のように、英国での生活体験がないとなかなか耳にすることがない表現でしょう。これは女王と殿下が毎年スコットランドで公式行事を行う週のことです。今年は6月30日から7月6日までが予定されています。ちなみにHolyroodはスコットランド議会がある地名です。
