reallyが後置されていることに注目します。reallyは普通修飾したい単語の前に置かれますが，ここではなぜか後ろに置かれています。これには何か意味があるのでしょうか。
『コリンズ　コウビルド英和辞典』（秀文インターナショナル）によると，reallyの用法の一つにIn opinions or statements in order to make them less definite and more hesitant.とあり，例文にThere was only me and her for lunch, so I ate quite a lot really.が挙げられていました。ここからreallyが後置されると，前に来た言葉の意味を和らげる働きがあるのですね。さらに田邉先生は，このreallyの用法はBritish Englishでとてもよく見受けられると仰っていました。
