今回はstipulateに注目します。『新英和中辞典』（第5版，研究社）を調べると「〈契約書［者］・条件などが〉〈…を〉規定する，明記する」とありました。また，
『OXFORD現代英英辞典』（第6版，Oxford University Press）にはverb (formal) to state clearly and firmly that sth must be done, or how it must be doneともありました。「しっかり，はっきり」と記されているということがポイントの表現だとわかりますね。訳は「民法は親権（未成年の子供を育てるために親が持つ権利と義務）を規定している」といったところでしょう。ちなみに，including以下は親権に含まれる監護権や財産管理権，懲戒権といった内容が述べられています。　（ゼミ生 pear）
