U-17女子W杯#1 Soccer is gamble?

日本ではあまり大きく取り上げられていませんが，U-17女子W杯で日本代表が決勝に進出しました。準決勝の相手は，前回大会優勝の北朝鮮。その試合の模様をFIFA.comから見ていきます。

今回注目していくのは，roll the diceとgamble paid offです。両者は，まるで賭け事のようにサッカーを表現しています。ここではroll the diceを「賭けに出る」，gamble paid offは「賭けが功を奏し」などと訳せますね。英語の面白さの一つとして，このような言葉遊びがあります。
