TORONTO (Kyodo) -- Ichiro Suzuki inched closer to an unprecedented 10th consecutive 200-hit season on Wednesday with an eighth-inning single in the Seattle Mariners' 6-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Suzuki finished the game 1-for-5, leaving him two hits away from extending his major league record of reaching 200 hits in nine straight seasons.
