Mr Chester said the investigation team had finished examining the debris and found both were "consistent with panels from a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 aircraft", the same make as the missing plane.
"The analysis has concluded the debris is almost certainly from MH370," he said in a statement, adding that it showed that the vast deep-sea search for the plane in the southern Indian Ocean, being led by Australia, was focusing on the right place.
Malaysia's Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai later told a news conference that paint samples from the debris indicated they were parts of the missing plane.
"First, the two pieces of debris belong to Boeing 777 parts. Secondly, from the paint and the stencils of these two pieces, it is similar to MAS (Malaysian Airlines) airlines paint. We conclude it is most certain [it] belongs to MH370," he said.

見出しの表現が面白いと思いました。"trick"はマジックのタネのことを指す言葉で馴染みがありますが、『ジーニアス英和辞典』では多くの意味があり、「芸当, 妙技」という意味で飼っている動物の芸のことを指す言葉でもあることがわかりました。これはご存知の通り、You cannot teach an old dog new tricks.ということわざに由来します（"to induce a person of settled habits to adopt new methods or ideas"--Collins American Dictionary online）。
狛犬の役割は神や仏を守護することであり、新たな神殿が造られるまでの期間は一般公開されるということで狛犬たちは別の役割を任されているということでこの表現が使われていると解釈しました。
今回とは別の意味ですが、"teach O a trick or two" で「(人)より経験が豊富である」という表現もありました。(lua)

北朝鮮が,韓国の大統領官邸を攻撃するシュミレーションを実施しておりました。このような過激な行動に出るのは,ミサイル発射に伴う経済制裁が強化されたことへの反応であると思います。また,米韓協同軍事演習に反発する構えを見せたとも考えられます。

N Korea simulates attack on S Korean president's residence
North Korea has been reacting after the UN imposed some of its toughest sanctions following its nuclear and long-range rocket tests.
Pyongyang has also been angered, as it is annually, by joint US-South Korean military exercises taking place south of the border.
Already known for vitriolic language, the KCNA report threatened to turn the South's presidential residence, known as the Blue House, into a "sea of flames and ashes".
"Artillery shells flew like lightning and intensely and fiercely struck targets simulating Cheong Wa Dae and rebel governing bodies in Seoul," it said of the latest drill, using the Korean name for the Blue House.
