ホンダのN-Boxをはじめとする軽乗用車が高齢者の間で人気のようです。

When Honda Motor Co. launched the latest version of its N-Box a year ago, it promoted features on the pint-sized minicar such as error-detecting pedals, automatic emergency braking and moveable seats, part of a push to market the vehicle to young families.

気になったのは、pint-sizedです。sizeという単語と一緒に使われていることと、話題になっているのがN-Boxであることから、「小さな」という意味なのではないかと考えました。
まず、『ウィズダム英和辞典』を引いたところ、「小さい」とありました。pint-sizeという形でもいいそうです。また、LDOCEでは“small - usually used humorously”と定義されていました。
ちなみに、軽自動車はminicarという表現の他にも、light carやkei carなど様々な表現の仕方があることがインターネットで検索してみて分かりました。こちらも覚えておきたいと思います。(Blue Sky)
