　be sick ofを取り上げます。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第四版、大修館書店）には「〈人が〉うんざりして、いやになって」とありました。LDOCEにはto be angry or bored with something that has been happening for a long timeと定義されています。また、うんざりとした感じをもっと強調したい場合にはbe sick and tired ofやbe sick to death ofなどと表現することができます。

　be tired ofとの違いを調べてみました。こちらはLDOCEにはbored with something, because it is no longer interesting, or has become annoyingと定義されていたので、あまり大きな違いはないかと思います。しかしbe sick ofは病気になりそうなくらい飽きているといったニュアンスなのでbe tired ofと比べると若干強意的な意味になるといった解説がいくつか見られました。(rain)
